Transport to the School

There are several options to reach Laguna de Apoyo. The first and most expensive (approx. $50 from the airport) is by taxi. Otherwise the bus service is frequent and reliable from the Huembes market to Granada. Ask the driver to let you out at the entrance road to Laguna de Apoyo, where you can await another bus going to Valle de Apoyo (at the rim of the crater) or Laguna de Apoyo, the settlement along the water’s edge. From the rim of the crater at Valle de Apoyo, it is a 35-minute walk along a descending road with signs leading to the school.

With advance notice, we can take you in a "Proyecto Ecológico" vehicle, to or from Managua, at $25 per trip.

Programs and Prices

All programs and prices include meals, room, and instruction costs for the time of program. The weekend program has Spanish classes Saturday and Sunday, with all meals included, and room Saturday night. The 5-day program runs from Monday through Friday, including all meals and room.

Discounts are available for groups of 6 or more.  Advance reservations and deposit are recommended. Payment is accepted is US dollars or in Nicaraguan cordobas at the current rate, in cash or bank check only. Travelers checks can only be accepted with 15 days advance notice, due to difficulty in handling them in Nicaragua.
