The GAIA program conducts scientific research, conservation of wild natural resources, and
environmental education under the auspices of the Nicaraguan Foundation for Integral Community Development (FUNDECI), a Nicaraguan

"In Defense of Nature", operate the Biological Research Station in Laguna de Apoyo Nature Reserve, conduct a number of research and
conservation projects in Nicaragua, and we provide Spanish language instruction to volunteers and professionals.
